Ushers & Greeters

Ushers and Greeters are an important part of the Eucharist Celebration at Saint Thomas the Apostle. The men and women who serve in this ministry are both hosts and housekeepers for the Lord’s Supper.

There are opportunities for parishioners interested providing hospitality to those who come to worship by serving as ushers and greeters at all liturgies. These roles include welcoming and greeting parishioners and visitors at entrances, taking up Mass collections, and helping to seat people at crowded liturgies. They act as first responders if someone is in distress. They ensure that the church is in order before, during and after the celebration of Mass.

If you would like to use your cheerful talents to serve our parish in this ministry, please contact our Time & Talent Coordinator at 602-954-9089. To join this ministry volunteers are required to be practicing Catholics, current on their Safe Environment Training and 18 years or older. Exceptions are made if a family ushers together for mass and parents join with their children (Jr.high -High School).
